People wonder if my art comes from my career choice or my other experiences. This is a variant of the old question: “does art imitate life or life imitate art.”
I suggest, in my case, neither of these ideas apply.
My subject matter is, at times, highly influenced by journeys to foreign countries and also by everyday occurrences. As in life itself, there are tributaries from the main course, and I am famous for the sidetrack idea.
I am a printmaker first and foremost. The printing process of photo-lithography allows me to appropriate foreign images or use my own photographic images and reassemble them to convey an explicit idea.
So far, the rough categories of my art are:
